The Components

All components of the watch are reviewed in quality control assembly.

Once a “set” is complete the combining of all the components into an ELYSEE begins. Order and a love of detail are important qualities in a watch maker, making his work excellent.

The dial and the hands

The watchmaker lends his own character to a watch, by setting the dial on the movement, right at the start of production.

Fitting pointers

The pointers of a watch are often also referred to as “hands”. The pointers on the watch are set and adjusted afterwards. They must be aligned at the correct distance and parallel, so that the watch runs without interruption.

Case, movement and crown

The eternal link between movement and case through a ring and many tiny screws fundamentally makes the quality watch movement into an ELYSEE watch. Finally the crown is inserted into the finished movement.

Adjusting the movement

The accuracy of the automatic watch is set up using a timing machine.

After that the rotor of the automatic watch is assembled. Through its movement the spring of the watch is automatically wound up.

Protection and visibility

The floor of the case is coated with rubber to protect the automatic watch movement on the reverse of the unscrewed case. To enable a view of the movement, ELYSEE incorporates transparent case floors into many of its automatic watches.

Functional checks

After assembly all functions are checked in the visual examination.

Waterproof?

Whether the watch meets the required level of waterproofness is tested in the final leak test.

Comfort

After that the desired high quality strap with the ELYSEE signet is attached. For this model this can be a fashionable grey calves’ leather strap or a stainless steel strap. Both are fitted with a butterfly clasp.

Satisfaction

ELYSEE makes its automatic watches available for inspection by Germany’s greatest watch winders.

After assembly ELYSEE automatic watches are left running for 24 hours in the circulation machine. After 24 hours of rest the tests are carried out again. After these final checks on function the watches are released for sale.
